Dr. Lori Bidwell has built a notable career in veterinary medicine, focusing on anesthesia and holistic therapies. She received her DVM from Michigan State University in 2001 and completed her anesthesia residency there as well. Her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists reflects her dedication to her specialty. Dr. Bidwell is also certified in veterinary acupuncture and massage therapy, showing her interest in a holistic approach to animal care.
Following her residency, she took on roles at various institutions, including leading the anesthesia department at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington. Her academic contributions include teaching positions at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Michigan State University.
Dr. Bidwell has worked with several equine surgery and sports medicine centers, such as Lexington Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine and Circle Oak Equine. Her experience spans both clinical practice and teaching, which has helped her build a solid reputation in her field.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Bidwell enjoys competing in amateur jumper divisions with her horses Nim, Dirck Z, and Currabawn Rambo. She and Dr. Peters are also involved in breeding jumpers through Five O'Clock Farm, with farms in Lexington, Kentucky, and Traverse City, Michigan. Their work in breeding sport horses reflects their passion for equestrian sports and commitment to supporting the growth of high-quality competition horses.
