If Equine Veterinary Medicine is your chosen career path, East West Equine can offer valuable experience to assist you on the way to achieving your goals.
Associate Veterinarian
East-West Equine Sports Medicine stands out as a unique private equine practice, serving the hunter/jumper show circuits across the United States. Our fortunate knack for following the best weather all year round allows us to maintain bases in Lexington, KY; Thermal, California; and Traverse City, Michigan.
Currently, our team comprises four dedicated doctors: Duncan Peters DVM, DACVSMR; Lori Bidwell DVM, DACVAA, CVA; Brooke Pearson, DVM; and Madalyn Kalscheur, DVM. While our primary focus lies in sports medicine, we also delve into general equine veterinary care. As the Official Show Veterinarians for both the Traverse City, Michigan, and Thermal, California, circuits, we handle a wide range of cases, from routine to emergency.
While we're not actively seeking new veterinarians, we warmly welcome anyone interested in joining our team as an associate veterinarian to reach out to us via email. We believe in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, and we're always open to connecting with passionate individuals who share our dedication to equine health and performance.
Veterinary Technician
Are you a veterinary technician looking for an exciting opportunity? Look no further! East-West Equine Sports Medicine is currently seeking an additional veterinary technician to join our team for the 2024-2025 winter circuit in Thermal, California, with the possibility of staying on afterward.

While we're based in Lexington, KY, we spend our winters in Thermal, California, and summers in Traverse City, Michigan, with periods back in Lexington in between.
We're looking for individuals with excellent horse handling skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment. Being able to lunge and jog horses for flexions is a must for this position. However, if you're the right candidate, we're more than happy to provide on-the-job training for necessary skills.
